Introduction, curriculum vitae

Dear Reader,

My name is Dr. Miklós Lukács, and I am a specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatology.

My interest in pediatrics began during the early years of medical school and was further strengthened through my scientific research activities, which focused on the controlled hypothermia treatment of transported newborns suffering from perinatal asphyxia. This experience naturally led me toward the field of neonatology.

After earning my medical degree from Semmelweis University, I began my career at the PIC-NIC II Department of Jahn Ferenc South Pest Hospital and Outpatient Clinic. Two years later, seeking further professional development, I joined the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Semmelweis University’s Üllői Road Campus. The high birth volume and the care of both healthy newborns and critically ill premature and newborn infants provided an exceptional environment for developing my clinical expertise and deepening my knowledge of neonatal medicine.

In 2018, I obtained my board certification in Pediatrics, followed by board certification in Neonatology in 2020. From that year onward, I also took on leadership responsibilities, coordinating and supervising departmental clinical operations. In recognition of my professional achievements and contributions, I was appointed Clinical Chief Physician by Semmelweis University in 2022.

In 2025, with the aim of further broadening my professional perspective, I began working in neonatal transport medicine as a field neonatologist. Through my experience on neonatal emergency transport units, I have come to recognize the critical importance of maintaining up-to-date theoretical knowledge and practical skills in neonatal resuscitation and emergency care among healthcare professionals. This realization has strengthened my commitment to education and training, making the sharing of these essential skills and knowledge an increasingly important part of my professional mission.

I believe that continuous learning, teamwork, and the highest standards of neonatal care are fundamental to achieving the best possible outcomes for newborns and their families.
