Dr. Csaba Mikes
I have been in private practice in proctology since 2007. In addition to my hospital-based rectal surgery, I have a private practice for the treatment of patients who come to me with rectal complaints (hemorrhoids, condyloma, rectal itching, rectal abscess, rectal adhesions, benign and malignant rectal and colon tumors), intending to establish an accurate diagnosis after a thorough examination and provide the most up-to-date treatment.
I was born in 1962 in Budapest, I live in Budapest with my family, I am a father of three boys. I graduated from Kaffka Margit High School in 1980. I started to prepare for the medical profession in high school and applied to medical school immediately after graduation. I started my medical studies in 1980 and graduated from the Semmelweis Medical University in 1987. During my university years, I was mainly interested in manual specialties, but also in internal medicine diagnostics. In 1987 I started my surgical career in the Emergency Department and later in the General Surgery Department of the MÁV Hospital. In 1991, I passed the specialist examination in surgery with excellent results. After completing my surgical foundation, I became a member of the first laparoscopic surgical team in the country, and as a result I am still a committed advocate of the laparoscopic technique, which offers significant benefits to patients.Between 2007 and 2020 I worked at the General Surgery Department of the Honvéd Hospital as Head of Department. In our surgical department we mainly treated patients with colon cancer. Thanks to the large hospital background, I had the opportunity to perform further radiological, CT and MRI examinations of malignant diseases detected in private proctology clinics, and if necessary, to perform pre- and post-operative oncological treatment. I have been a member of the Hungarian Society of Surgeons for 30 years, I consider continuous professional development very important, therefore I regularly participate in national and international surgical and proctological congresses.
Since the beginning of my career, the prevention of colorectal cancer has been the main focus of my work, and I have been seeing a large number of patients with rectal problems in our department, which has made proctology one of my main profiles alongside colorectal surgery.
