Pediatric Cardiology deals with congenital heart development abnormalities and acquired cardiovascular diseases in newborns, infants, and children. The acquired diseases include, for example, inflammatory diseases, arrhythmias, and heart muscle diseases. The most common congenital heart diseases are septal defects. Almost every cardiological disease can be treated surgically or with medication, but as with any other medical condition, early detection of the problem is crucial.
