About me:
In October 2000 I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Debrecen, then in 2008 I passed my specialist examination in orthopaedics and traumatology in Szeged, and in 2023 I passed the specialist examination in hand surgery. After both examinations, I participated in an extended internship abroad, where I was able to deepen my knowledge and gain valuable international experience. My narrow professional interests are focused on upper limb and ankle care, with a particular emphasis on shoulder and elbow surgery.
A key milestone in my career was the Department of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the University of Nottingham, where I spent three years. In addition to my medical work, I have been involved in undergraduate teaching of medical students, research projects and a PhD. My doctoral research focused on improving the durability and conceptual design of shoulder prostheses. In Nottingham, I had the opportunity to learn about an innovative clavicle stabilisation procedure, which I brought to Hungary and now use extensively.
As a lecturer in Hungary, I was responsible for graduate teaching at the Orthopaedic Clinic of Semmelweis University for 3 years. During this time I was responsible for the introduction of the "blocked" teaching model and the introduction and operation of online education during the COVID period. I was a regular participant in postgraduate and continuing education courses as an instructor. I am currently supervising the research of two PhD students, one at Semmelweis University and the other at the Catholic University of Leuven.
My surgical activities cover the full spectrum of shoulder surgery, including arthroscopic and open procedures. These include, for example, post-shoulder dislocation stabilisation surgery, decompression procedures for the treatment of impact syndrome, reconstructions of the internal tendon structure of the shoulder and bony impact stabilisation surgery. I also have considerable experience in the treatment of long head of biceps disorders and traumatic shoulder deformities, including fracture reunion, joint function restoration, and acute and chronic management of ligamentous injuries. I am an experienced surgeon in shoulder replacement, both primary and revision.
My experience in elbow surgery was also based in Nottingham, where I learned state-of-the-art techniques. In addition to total elbow joint replacement, I also perform partial joint ligament prosthesis as well as joint preservation surgery. Ligament reconstructions due to instability are also part of my toolkit. I perform arthroscopic surgeries for tennis elbow, intra-articular disorders, cartilage defects, joint stiffness release, removal of free bodies and bone spurs, etc.
The doctor accepts his patients from the age of 16.
