Varga Ildikó Czákné
I graduated in 1995 from the Health Visitor program at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Debrecen. I worked in villages and small towns in Borsod County before moving to Budapest, where I have been working as a Health Visitor since 2003.
Despite my many years of professional experience as a Health Visitor, I did not feel that my knowledge about breastfeeding was sufficiently up-to-date or comprehensive. I wanted to deepen my expertise in this field, so in 2018 I obtained my IBCLC certification, and in 2019 I graduated as a Lactation Consultant from Semmelweis University.
As a Health Visitor, I had already gained extensive experience working with babies older than three days, but I wanted to acquire new knowledge and support families with breastfeeding as early as possible. That is why I was very happy for the opportunity to join the team at Duna Medical Center, where I have been working as a Lactation Consultant for the past three years.
Parents today may receive uncertain or conflicting information from many different sources. I believe that when parents equip themselves with reliable, up-to-date, and evidence-based knowledge, it becomes much easier for them to find their own path in establishing a successful breastfeeding journey.
