Hundreds of millions of people fall victim to healthcare-associated infections each year. According to UNICEF data, nearly 3 million children die every year in developing countries from contact-borne diseases, but even the most modern hospitals are unable to expel them from the wards everywhere. Shocking as it may be, most similar infections could be prevented very simply: by proper hand washing.
