Starting from the end of December 2019, a new flu-like illness of viral origin was detected in China, which was confirmed by the appropriate laboratory methods. According to them, the current illness is a variant of an infection that has been known for the past 10 years - mainly pneumonia.
The characteristic of the new coronavirus is that it is more contagious than the flu virus and spreads not only from person to person, but also from animal to person. According to our knowledge so far, the frequency of death is no greater than that of the flu, and it primarily affects the elderly or people who have fallen and have a weak immune system.
According to our current knowledge, it is possible to prevent the spread of the disease by observing the appropriate epidemiological rules, isolation and hygiene rules. 1. We cannot provide specialist care, including occupational health examinations, to a patient suffering from a respiratory disease of unknown origin with high fever. In these cases, they should visit the ambulance of the Dél-Pest Centrumkórház (Szent László site, 1097 Budapest, Albert Flórián út 5-7, tel: 061 455 8100) .
2. In view of the fact that it is not possible to isolate and identify the virus at the Duna Medical Center, we ask that all patients who are suspected of having the disease due to regional involvement or travel habits and who would like to be investigated should also contact the Dél-Pest Centrumkórház up.Thank you for your understanding and kind cooperation!
