Briefly about gallstones:

There can be several reasons for the formation of gallstones. In addition to inflammation caused by bacteria, a diet rich in cholesterol can also cause the formation of stones, as the level of cholesterol in the bile increases, which increases the risk of precipitation. Pregnancy can also pose a higher risk, because in the case of a ruptured gallbladder resulting from this, or perhaps for other reasons, the emptying of bile is not completely free, and the crystals can still precipitate.

The most common symptom of gallstones is that after a meal, when the bile containing the stones is emptied from the gallbladder, a sharp, spasmodic pain appears under the right rib cage. Stones can even cause a blockage, which can make this pain worse or permanent. Pain radiating to the stomach or back, digestive problems, bloating or even vomiting may also occur.

At the Duna Medical Center, the gallbladder is usually removed with a gentle laparoscopic procedure under anesthesia, known as "keyhole surgery". The essence of this is that we make a small incision at the navel, through which we introduce the camera. 2-3 additional incisions are made under the rib cage, and the gallbladder is removed without opening the abdominal cavity with the instruments introduced through them.

The pre-surgery check-up can be done here locally, at our institution, and even in one day. Surgeries are performed in the new, state-of-the-art operating theater complex of the Duna Medical Center.

Conditions of the promotion:
