About Hernia:
A hernia is a common condition and can only be cured by surgery. By delaying the procedure, over time, the hernia can grow, cause discomfort, and even lead to the development of additional illnesses. At this stage, surgical intervention can be riskier or more complicated.

Hernia Surgery:
The pre-surgery examination is performed on-site at our institution and can even be completed within one day. Surgeries are performed at the Duna Medical Center in a new, state-of-the-art operating complex.
At Duna Medical Center, we aim to operate on as many of our patients as possible using minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques. In these cases, we reach the hernia through tiny abdominal openings, and if necessary, we strengthen the abdominal wall with a mesh. The mesh is placed behind the muscle through these small openings. We perform hernia surgeries under general anesthesia, spinal, or - if necessary - local anesthesia. Both general and spinal anesthesia are always supplemented with local anesthesia of the surgical area, which significantly reduces post-operative pain. This way, we can discharge most of our patients on the same day of the surgery. We primarily use laparoscopic techniques, and if that is not possible, we operate the hernia using traditional methods. We can apply polyester or polypropylene macroporous meshes in a customized design for the surgeries, as well as partially or entirely absorbable meshes. Importantly, we can choose surgical techniques and accompanying meshes based on your condition.
Recovery Process:
Patients operated with the surgical technique and so-called preemptive analgesia used at Duna Medical Center complain of minimal pain and can return to their usual daily activities within a few days.
