One of these modern techniques is coblation technology. With coblation technology, our physicians work with a so-called plasma scalpel at a temperature of approximately 50 degrees Celsius. The plasma layer generated at the tip of the instrument allows for simultaneous cutting and hemostasis, while the low temperature minimizes tissue damage at deeper levels. Compared to traditional cutting methods, this approach is gentler, resulting in easier and faster wound healing, reduced bleeding, and less pain at the surgical site. The procedure is particularly suitable for tonsillectomy, pharyngeal plastic surgery, sleep apnea surgery, snoring surgery, as well as for treating nasal turbinate hypertrophy and tightening the soft palate.
